When choosing our friends, we tend to choose those who think like us, act like us, and tell us what we want to hear. That’s not always the best decision. When we make bad choices, we need friends who are willing to speak the truth to us, not just what we want to hear. We must remember that true friends speak the truth even when it hurts!
In this lesson, kids will learn, through the story of King David and the prophet Nathan, that true friends are willing to confront us when we are wrong. A true friend is someone who is willing to tell us the truth even when it hurts or offends us, especially when it comes to confronting sin and bad behavior in our lives.
