When choosing our friends, we tend to choose only those who think like us, act like us, and tell us what we want to hear. That’s not always the best decision. When we make bad choices, we need friends who are willing to speak the TRUTH to us, not simply what we want to hear. We must remember that TRUE friends speak the truth even when it hurts!
In this lesson, the children will learn through the story of King David and the prophet Nathan that true friends are willing to confront us when we are wrong.
A true friend is someone who is willing to tell us the truth - even when it hurts (or offends) us. This is especially true when it comes to confronting sin and bad behavior in our lives.
