Prison Break

Prison. Just the thought of it produces emotion and fear. When you hear that word, different things come to mind: Horrible food, Boredom, Lonely, Locked up with no way out. Stuck. Caught. Powerless. Captive. If you are in, you want to get out!
In this series, we are going to look at prison stories from the book of Acts in the Bible. We are going to look at some people who were thrown into prison – not for something BAD that they did – but for something GOOD.
Sometimes in life we are in a bit of a different prison. It’s not a physical prison with bars, it’s an emotional prison. Sometimes the devil tries to lock us up with sadness, loneliness, or even sickness and disease. He tries to keep us locked up so we can’t be effective in our work for God.
Through the stories of the Apostles, Peter, and Paul & Silas, the children will learn that God will not leave them alone in their “prison.” God will comfort them, protect them, and ultimately set them FREE! In addition, God can use the bad situation they find themselves in to bless others and bring them into His kingdom.
